Review: Desert Pearl Inn, Springdale, Utah
After a long drive back from Colorado on our “Epic Road Trip to the Rockies” (see below for link) we finally arrived in Springdale Utah, at our hotel – Desert Pearl Inn. Once the desk clerk checked us in, she gave us a map of our hotel suite’s location as well as a list of local eateries. She shared with us the location of the pool, hot tub and guest laundry, and explained how to use the private jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom.

Utilizing the tub was the best idea of the night, and it worked great! It was an extra special benefit to have an in-room jacuzzi. My husband and I both enjoyed the stimulating jets after our long day of driving. Due to car trouble, we had a late start, so this was especially appreciated.
River’s Edge Suite
Our suite was spectacular. An expansive sitting room, the room also came with a full kitchen, spacious bedroom and two luxurious bathrooms. This was another plus for a couple. Both imbued an upscale tranquil vibe .
Kitchen Etc.
The kitchen was wonderful. I made use of both the freezer and the refrigerator. On the counter, I was happy to see a coffee maker (with a basket of coffee, teas and cocoa) along with a toaster oven, cooktop and microwave. Glasses, cups, dishes, pans, silverware and more were all available. One drawer offered every type of gadget you could need – a pizza cutter, wine opener, etc. Standing in the kitchen, one could see the comfortable living area. Beyond that were beautiful trees, ever so slightly blowing in the wind, set against the quintessential Zion red rock cliffs just outside the balcony. It was a much needed peaceful respite.
Master Bath & Jacuzzi
After enjoying the bamboo shampoo and conditioner in my soothing bath, I relaxed on the couch and perused a beautiful book left for guests on the coffee table. Highlighting the stunning views of Zion National Park, the book explained the origin, evolution and formation of the beautiful red rock cliffs in the area.
The Bedroom
Now let’s talk about the bed – aah it was so comfortable. The pillows were amazingly soft – fluffy yet they had give. I usually travel with my own pillow…just in case. I did not even need to take out my pillow, and slept like a baby.

Then, the next morning my husband made coffee, and we sat outside on the balcony sipping the strong brew.
In addition to the balcony mentioned above (off the living space), there was a second balcony with an entry door from the adjacent bedroom. These two covered balconies were connected and featured Adirondack chairs as well as a table, a great place for an outdoor meal.
Another plus…the river ran through the backside of the property, just below the balconies. As I lay back in one of the lounge recliners, I watched and listened to the birds waking up. Soothing sounds of flowing water and birds chirping were so relaxing. Too bad we could not stay longer, but LA was waiting for us.
I could not help but think that Desert Pearl Inn with its close proximity to Zion National Park would be a fantastic destination point for small groups, plein air painting retreats and photo workshops. It is also an inspirational place to be…perfect for all creative types.
Finally heading out, we said goodbye to Desert Pearl Inn, with one more stop to see the glory of Zion National Park. Desert Pearl Inn, 707 Zion Park Blvd. Springdale, UT 84767; https://www.desertpearl.com
