The LA Art Show Back in 2026
In 2026 the LA Art Show is celebrating its 31st year in Los Angeles. I have attended every show (with the exception of one) since 2010. I love the spirit of this art fair, as well as the work exhibited. ETG’s sister site – LAArtParty.com has sponsored the annual event since 2012. EatTravelGo.com joined in as a sponsor in 2022.
The LA Art Show

The LA Art show continues to expand with each new year featuring global diversity within exhibiting galleries as well as nonprofit organizations. DIVERSEartLA curated by Marisa Caichiolo has been a constant since 2015. Caichiolo collaborates with international museums, institutions, in addition to artists, to spotlight cultural happenings in the world today. While utilizing both science and technology, highlights include social activism, gender, and environmentalism. Moreover timely commentaries on current affairs such as AI, politics and pop culture, just to name a few.
In fact producers of the LA Art Show have invited Caichiolo to curate an invitation-only Latin American Pavilion. New as of 2026, the Latin American Pavilion will feature 90 galleries. The LA Art Show strives to show support for these galleries at a time, when so many immigrants are being terrorized.

History of the LA Art Show
It all began in Pasadena with just fourteen galleries founded by Kim Martindale and the Fine Art Dealers Association. Its original focus was on American Regionalism. In the late nineties, it moved west and finally to Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar through 2008. It was then that modern/contemporary art was added to the platform. The annual art fair grew substantially through those years. Therefore in 2009 it was moved to the LA Convention Center where it successfully continues to this day. In 2012, Palm Beach Show Group (PBSG) acquired the LA Art Show who also produce the Art Palm Beach annual event which began in 1997.
New Dates for the 2026 LA Art Show
The LA Art Show has consistently been held in January each year, until 2023 through 2025 when it was held during LA Art Week, also called Frieze Week LA. Read an LA Art Show Review from a previous year (when it took place during in February). However this year, it has returned to leading the art fairs with its January date. So don’t miss it.
Host of the 2026 LA Art Show
Actress Sasha Pieterse will host the opening night event on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Each year a charity beneficiary is chosen. In 2026, the American Heart Association will receive 15 percent from every ticket sold during opening night. The funds raised will support the Life Is Why™ campaign.
