The artist is most known for her stunning sculptures and public art installations. In addition, Kwade’s work also includes photography, film and works on paper. Her art incorporates reflection, repetition and the deconstruction and reconstruction of everyday objects.
Au Cours Des Mondes on Place Vendôme in Paris (above) was created in 2022. Here Kwade set a dialogue between natural stone globes affixed to endless concrete stairs as well as a set of natural stone spheres.
“We look forward to sharing Alicja’s work with our global audiences through public projects and exhibitions,” said Marc Glimcher, CEO of Pace Gallery. “Alicja transforms our sense of perception and draws attention to nature’s relationship to human existence.” In turn, Wade revealed that she was extremely excited to join the gallery. “Pace has made significant contributions to the development of modern and contemporary art.”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City commissioned the artist to create the above installation in 2019. It consists of two sculptures (steel and massive spherical rocks). The installation evokes a solar system settled temporarily above Manhattan’s skyline.
Through her art, Wade chooses to explore our social structures while revealing our everyday reality. Moreover, Kwade challenges scientific and philosophical concepts by dismantling the the limiting confines of perception.
