Stand Strong Los Angeles!

As longtime residents of LA, and owners of LAArtParty.com (2010) and EatTravelGo.com (2018) my husband and I are saddened by the devastation of our beloved city. Our hearts go out to everyone that was affected by these horrendous Los Angles fires. We are especially concerned for artists of all kinds who often don’t have insurance, nor the financial resources. I know during the last Malibu fire, many visual artists lost original artworks, which was just heartbreaking. We can only imagine what has already been lost during these atrocious fires. There is help available for artists and everyone to recover from the 2025 LA Fires. And we stand with you.

Help for Artists 2025 LA Fires

The Getty-led LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund is a great place to donate. There is a also a grass roots fund set up by artists and gallery owners to help visual artists – grief and HOPE. The bi-coastal gallery The Hole has stepped up and has set up their large gallery as donation center through January 21, 2025. People can drop off supplies, water, new clothing, while fire survivors can come and take what they need. Find out more info on The Hole Instagram Page.

Performing artists and musicians were also impacted by the fires. MusiCares Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1989 and incorporated in 1993 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Or to help film and tv industry workers (actors & crew), donate to another longtime nonprofit – The Motion Picture and Television Fund.

Donate Now LA Fires

Here is a list of additional important nonprofits that are helping right now in Los Angeles and also a place for others to donate funds.

Donate now to the Red Cross. One of my all time favorite non profits is World Central Kitchen which I personally donate to every year. Founder José Andrés is an angel, who consistently gives back all over the world. Of course Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful resource.

Help for Animals 2025 LA Fires

And let’s not forget our furry friends – donate to any of these fantastic organizations. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is a temporary holding space for animals (including horses), also check this LA Home to Home FB page if you need temporary fostering. Pasadena Humane Society is another great resource.

Also if you are in need of pet food or any animal related supplies, there are emergency pet pantries open daily from 8am to 6pm providing essential pet supplies for those in need at these two locations:
1. Best Friends Pet Adoption Center: 1845 Pontius Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025
2
. Best Friends Clinic: 17411 Chatsworth St., Suite #100, Granada Hills, CA 91344

Volunteer

The Red Cross volunteers are always out there making a difference, so it’s a great place to give back. Or you can make a difference by joining the team at SMC Foundation. The SMC Foundation offers a calendar with a list of duties that one can sign up for. The website organizes information effectively and provides an excellent way to engage volunteers productively.

For those that currently need a distraction, ETG’s sister LAArtParty.com is listing events that are still happening this weekend. Be aware, we had many event cancelations during the first weekend. However, now galleries are moving ahead and using the “ART PARTIES” as a way to support the artist community in LA. We also have a FREE monthly newsletter that goes out. New LA events include art openings, music and theatre performances as well as culinary events and restaurants. LAArtParty posts new events every Wednesday for the coming weekend (Thursdays through Sundays). Be well, stay safe, and stay strong. We love you LA.

For additional art exhibitions, and performances as well as culinary events, see LAArtParty’s Upcoming Events Page.
