We all love to find exquisite restaurants when we travel. But how do you know which ones are the best? Often there is only so much time while in a new city, state, or country. You don’t want to waste a meal on an overpriced not-so-good restaurant. So read our ETG reviews.

Reviews Upscale Restaurants

Below are just a few of our favorite upscale and romantic restaurants. Of course we have lots more under the Eat/Drink

Kauai, Hawaii

The photo of Richard and I (above) was taken at Red Salt in Kauai on our honeymoon. This is an impressive restaurant. The ambiance, the cuisine…all magnificent. CLICK HERE to read the review. I also wrote three articles as part of my Finding Love Later in Life series about how I met my husband and our honeymoon in Hawaii.

Bonaire, The Dutch Caribbean

I love Bonaire. Attention all you scuba divers, if you have not yet been to Bonaire…get there. In addition to an amazing house reef Buddy Dive Resort is home to a fantastic restaurants called Ingridients. You may be thinking…whoops Kathy is having a senior moment….but no I am NOT. Ingridients is the correct spelling of the restaurant. CLICK HERE to read my review.

Another romantic restaurant with a view located in Bonaire is Cappuccino. Situated on a pier you are surrounded by water as you dine. It is breathtaking. CLICK HERE for the review. I also wrote an article about my trip to Bonaire. CLICK HERE to read. You can find these articles in the Stories Section.

Solvang CA

I enjoyed a fabulous birthday dinner at First & Oak, a Michelin Plate Awarded restaurant in Solvang California. The food was exceptional at this intimate dining spot. CLICK HERE to read the review. If you are looking for a more casual, family friendly eatery owned by a longtime local CLICK HERE to read my review of the Solvang Restaurant.

Connecticut

If you love Asian fusion cuisine, Tao has many locations. I reviewed TAO in Uncasville Connecticut. This is very close to Gales Ferry, where I spent most of my time. The interior design of TAO is exotic, you’ll feel like you are in another country. Also it is located in the Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort, so you may as well make a night of it. Los Angeles

Finally, let’s not forget about Los Angeles, which offers a plethora of fantastic upscale restaurants. The Four Seasons is legendary. It’s restaurant Culina does an exceptional job of keeping a fresh rotating menu of seasonal fare. Also the resident sommelier can advise you on a perfect pairing for each course. I love the pairing that was selected for me. CLICK HERE to read my restaurant review.
