Best High End Hotels in Mammoth
Mammoth is a year round destination resort and a great place to escape to on a weekend away from Los Angeles. See below for a full list of staff picks for some of our favorite Mammoth Luxury Hotels. My husband is an avid snowboarder who considers Mammoth his home mountain. So, we visit quite often during the winter months.

Mammoth Luxury Hotels
While I have no intention of hitting the slopes, I do enjoy a luxury resort, and Mammoth has a lot of options. I prefer visiting during the warmer months, but more often than not, we are there in winter. For those of you who do not ski or snowboard, there are plenty of other things to do. One can ice skate, go tubing, rent a snow mobile, partake in a massage or even enjoy birdwatching. Or do what I do, simply stay inside, relax and take in the stunning views while sipping a full bodied cabernet. See links below to read more about my husband’s experience snowboarding on Mammoth mountain.

When visiting Mammoth you can book a package through the mountain and receive a discount. These packages include: The Stay & Play Lodging, The Lift+Lodging, and The Ikon Pass lodging. Plus you’ll find additional deals (like the 4th night free) on the website. Some of these packages offer tubing or snowmobiling with add-ons, etc. Be aware they have a book by date, in addition to blackout dates, and there is a minimum two-night requirement. Needless to say you will enjoy a bigger discount if you book a weekday trip. With the above packages, your lodging options are Mammoth Mountain Inn, The Village Lodge, Juniper Springs Resort, Tamarack Lodge, and Mammoth Luxury Home Rentals.
The Westin Monache Resort
Enjoy a taste of luxury at the The Westin Monache Resort with outstanding views. This hotel offers fully furnished upscale lodging options including suites or studios. The rooms come with kitchenettes, sofa beds, and fireplaces as well as basic amenities.

The property includes a fitness center, a heated outdoor pool, and a couple of hot tubs as well. Furthermore, there is an excellent on-site eatery called Whitebark Restaurant. Here you will enjoy glorious mountain view and fine dining. The town of Mammoth Lakes is relatively close to Yosemite National Park. During the summer, you can stay at the Westin Monache, and take a day trip into Yosemite. The route however is only available after Tioga Pass gets cleared of snow. The Village Lodge
Or, consider staying at the Village Lodge with easy access to the mountain as well as shopping, dining and entertainment. The Village Lodge offers a variety of options 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, as well as studios. The property has a heated pool, several hot tubs and many other amenities. It caters to both winter sports lovers and summer hiking/mountain biking crowd with gondola access.

This is a great starting point for beginners and also families. The Village Lodge, 1111 Forest Trail, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546; https://www.mammothmountain.com/plan-your-trip/mammoth-hotels/the-village-lodge
Mammoth Mountain Inn
One more excellent lodging option that may appeal to you adventure seekers is Mammoth Mountain Inn. Situated at 9,000 feet, this cozy mountain lodge is outside the town of Mammoth Lakes and directly across from the mountain. It is a short walk from the panoramic gondola and Mammoth Mountain’s main lodge. So, you ca wake up and hit the slopes as soon as the mountain opens. In warmer weather, take advantage of Devils Postpile, Rainbow Falls, as well as the Mammoth Adventure Center.

Enjoy outdoor and indoor hot tubs, a heated pool as well as a fitness club. There is also a ski rental shop on site, and you can purchase a lift ticket right at the hotel. Then hop on the gondola only yards away. They also have a restaurant called Mountainside Bar and Grill which offers American style cuisine, specializing in steaks and seafood. You will also find the Sierra General Store located on the main floor of this hotel. So, when you factor in all the convenient amenities, ETG believes this is the best option for those who consider easy access to the slopes a priority. If getting fresh tracks on a powder day is your goal, this is the spot. Outbound Mammoth
Finally For a more rustic but homey feel, plan a trip for your extended family and reserve a three bedroom chalet at Outbound Mammoth. A cottage style lodging, it offers lots of amenities. In addition to a fully stocked kitchen, a wood burning fireplace makes it all the more cozy. The bedrooms include a king bedroom with two ground-level rooms (one King bed and one Double bed). Moreover, each has its own bathroom with heated floors. Let’s face it, that is a big bonus in winter. Of course, rooms for two are also available. Visit the website for more info.
