My husband and I visited Las Vegas for a much needed break from LA. Some friends invited us to meet them in Sin City and stay at Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino situated pretty much in the middle of the strip. We decided to fly, so we wouldn’t even have to deal with the traffic (plus our friends were driving from LA). The flights are 40 minutes, so soon we were in a Lyft and checked into our room at Harrah’s.

Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

In the 90s I spent a lot of time working in Vegas. I’ve stayed at the Mirage, Treasure Island, the New Flamingo, the Luxor, MGM Grand, even Circus Circus (that was a cheap client). Harrah’s Las Vegas is currently operated under the umbrella of Caesars Entertainment, which is ultimately owned by Vici Properties.

Our room was beautiful. It had a gorgeous view. It came with a queenside bed, a table and chairs right by the window, a coffeemaker, a tv, wifi, etc. The bathroom was sleek, and I liked the whole set up – it had plenty of drawers for makeup and such. The shower was stocked with shampoo, conditioner and lotion.

I loved the way the room was arranged…each night, and every morning, we sat the table by the window gazing at the view. Plus there was tons of closets perfect for a longer stay if needed. The staff at the restaurant, the casino, and also the cleaning staff were all quite helpful and courteous as well.

Finally we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Ramsay’s Kitchen at Harrah’s. It is well known for its Beef Wellington, which was fantastic. We also enjoyed cocktails and fresh oysters, Crispy Skin Salmon, Braised Short Rib, and more. I had no idea Harrah’s had so many great restaurants right on the property. They also have additional inexpensive counter style eateries at the Fulton Street Food Hall such as, Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, Pizza Cake By Buddy Valastro, and more.

Stop by the Linq

After dinner, we played some slots, then stopped by the LINQ Promenade right next door. I loved the outdoor mall vibe. There are some fun restaurants and shops, that I knew we would be heading back to later on our trip. CLICK HERE to read about another restaurant called Favorite Bistro at the LINQ.

We could see a pool, down below, however found out later it was closed on weekdays. However, we did find out that since we were staying at Harrah’s operated by Caesars Entertainment, we could also utilize the pool on the 2nd floor of the LINQ. There is also a gym as well as a spa at the hotel, but we were way too busy to discover that.

We had a great stay, however I later found out some silly hotel guidelines that could cost you more money than expected. Since we my husband (a professional photographer/writer) and I (writer) are considered “press.” We were able to check in early, and go right up to our room, when we arrived at 1pm. Our friends however, had to wait till 3pm (normal check in time). So they stashed their bags in our room, and we all went out to eat. We learned from our friends that not all the rooms come with coffeemakers. They decided to upgrade their room so that they could receive a coffeemaker. However, it did not come with coffee. The good news is they knew about this going in, since they have stayed here before.

ETG TIP: If you do an upgrade so that you can have a coffeemaker in your room, go to Walgreens on the Strip and purchase coffee pods. They are much cheaper than the ones the hotel offers “to buy.” There is also a Starbucks in the lobby if you prefer.
