Best Casual Mammoth Restaurants

The Stove
Grabbing breakfast at the Stove is a tradition if you are a frequent visitor to Mammoth. My husband Rich grew up snowboarding in Mammoth, and he speaks fondly of the Stove. His loves the burgers, and the tacos. Be aware the restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch (7am – 2pm) offering traditional menu items and specialty dishes.

Its signature breakfast dishes include: Sierra Sunrise (skillet of potatoes, bell pepper, onion & ham with two eggs and cheddar), Huevos Rancheros (two eggs over corn tortillas, shredded beef, cheese & chilies, served with beans) or the Chorizo Skillet (Chorizo, scrambled eggs, bell pepper, onion & cheddar served over stove potatoes). While the most requested lunch items are the Stove Burger, Hot turkey open sandwich (with gravy), and Prime Rib French Dip (grilled onions & jack cheese and served au jus). Mountainside Mountain Bar & Grill
Inside the Mammoth Mountain inn (see pix above), you’ll find Mountainside Mountain Bar & Grill. *See below for a link to an article about the hotel. Typical breakfast/brunch items include Pulled Pork Benedict (English muffin, soft poached egg, asparagus, potatoes, hollandaise), Hearty Country Fried Steak (3 eggs any style, potatoes, gravy), or a Mammoth specialty item served as an omelette or a breakfast burrito. It includes Bacon, sausage, bell peppers, onions, shredded cheese, arugula, fire-roasted salsa, served with breakfast potatoes. The most popular items for lunch are the Fried Chicken BLT (Crispy fried chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, toasted bun, fries), and the Grilled Mountainside Burger (Boston lettuce, tomato, onion, Grillo’s Pickles, burger sauce, cheddar cheese, toasted bun, served with fries – or add a salad).

For dinner partake in the Rosemary Half Chicken (Roasted garlic mashed potato, vegetable medley, brown brandy sauce.) Additional top choices include: Porcini Mushroom Raviolis (Creamy white wine garlic sauce, garlic chips, oyster mushroom, basil oil), and Pan Seared Asian Sea Bass (Beluga lentils, vegetable medley, buttermilk cream dill sauce). A staple from the restaurant is the Grilled Mountainside Burger (available for lunch). Noodle-Ly
If you love Thai food, Noodle-Ly is a popular eatery in the Mammoth Lakes area. It has a strong local following, so you may have to wait for tables. Alas, they also do a strong takeout business.

The restaurant serves eight noodle based items. Khao Soi is a popular menu item (rice noodles, chicken Broth, minced port, garlic sauce). Another favorite is the Pho with Braised Beef (rice noodles, beef broth, braised brisket). The restaurant is known for its homemade broth. Noodle-Ly actually closes down on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to make the broth. However, if you prefer ‘noodles only’ go for the Noods (just noodle) with BBQ pork and soy ginger chili sauce. All of the dishes come with rice noodles, but you can swap out egg or spinach noodles for an additional charge. Plus, there are options for vegetarians as well. In addition, Thai coffee and tea, as well as beer, wine and soju are all available for sale. Noodle-Ly, 437 Old Mammoth Road, Suite 146, Mammoth Lakes, California 93546; https://www.noodle-ly.com
Yodler Restaurant & Bar
A historic Swiss chalet, Yodler Restaurant & Bar is perfect for families. It opened in Mammoth over fifty years ago. To this day, it is still bringing in the customers due to its great food, friendly service and views. The menu features German inspired cuisine such as brats, giant pretzels and schnitzel.
