Best Pizza Mystic CT

Like most of the world’s population, I love pizza. So while I was visiting Connecticut, I decided to put together a few of the Best Pizza spots in Mystic, CT. I also wrote a Retail Therapy article about the OLDE Mystick Village, where Mango Wood Fired Pizza is located. See link below.

Mystic Pizza

Mystic Pizza is well-known as the iconic establishment that gained fame by being featured in the 1988 movie of the same name. So, naturally it has become a tourist attraction for movie buffs. The famed eatery however remains popular among locals. The casual pizzeria serves up delicious pies with a variety of toppings.

While visiting CT, I stopped in with my sister and brother-in-law, and we shared a half veggie/half sausage pizza. It was quite tasty indeed…good crust and tons of cheese (see cover photo). In addition to building your own pie, the restaurant serves up some interesting specialty pies as well. Here is just a sampling: Seafood Delight (Shrimp, Clams, Scallops, Garlic, Oregano, Parsley), Mediterranean Delight (Artichoke hearts, Spinach, Tomatoes, Garlic and Roasted Red Pepper), and Texas Chicken (Chicken, Red Onion, Bacon, BBQ Sauce). Pizzetta

Also nearby….Pizzetta is another great place for pizza with a wonderful waterfront location. Take advantage of its outdoor seating and enjoy the scenic views of the Mystic River. The cozy restaurant is known for its thin-crust pies bursting with flavor. Along with its traditional selections, vegetarian and vegan options are available, and they also offer gluten free options. Mango Wood Fired Pizza

Another casual restaurant known for its pizza is Mango Wood Fired Pizza. It’s located in Olde Mistick Village which is a free outdoor shopping center. CLICK HERE to read my article Shop at Olde Mistick Village, Mystic CT.

With its wood-fired oven, Mango delivers an artisanal pizzas featuring thin, crispy crusts and fresh toppings of your choosing. From classic favorites to creative combinations, there’s a pizza for every palate. There is a lovely outdoor patio, where I enjoyed a late lunch with my sister. We shared the Cracked Tomato Pizza (Olive oil, fresh garlic & sea salt, topped with slices of fresh tomato). This was a delicious selection with a simple but excellent combination of ingredients.

Other popular pies include: Prosciutto & Arugula (Fresh arugula, sliced prosciutto & a drizzle of balsamic glaze atop our white mozzarella, fresh garlic, olive oil pizza), and Virgin ‘Gorga’ (Olive oil, fresh garlic & sea salt topped with slices of fresh tomato, spinach, gorgonzola & mozzarella cheeses).
