Queenstown Tours and Beyond, Best Ways to see New Zealand

New Zealand has a seemingly endless array of tours available throughout the country. There are many interesting places to visit and lots of things to do on both the North and South islands. Plus, there are many smaller islands just offshore. I’d like to spotlight a couple tours we enjoyed during our visit to Queenstown, New Zealand.

If visiting Milford Sound is on your bucket list, ETG recommends Cheeky Kiwi Travel. They specialize in small group tours. The tour we chose includes a five hour minibus ride to Milford Sound with multiple photo stops along the way. After arriving at Milford Sound, a relatively large boat takes you and several other groups out into the sound. You cruise past the iconic Mitre Peak where you can view numerous waterfalls up close.

If you stay on deck, the falls will drench you as the boat approaches. The tour package includes the boat ride, a picnic lunch, and the minibus journey back to Queenstown. This particular tour is about 13 hours long. The minibus is quite comfortable and will pick you up at your hotel. You can also fly back to Queenstown, if weather permits and it’s within your budget. Additional day tours are available from Queenstown, along with a variety of multi day tours. Cheeky Kiwi Travel also offers guided tours from Auckland, Te Anau & Christchurch. You can visit favorites spots like Hobbiton Movie Set, Rotorua, Mt Cook, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Lake Tekapo, Coromandel, Kaikoura, Bay of Islands, Lake Wanaka, Taupo, Te Anau & Auckland’s Wild West Coast. Plus they offer custom tours.

Hop On Hop Off Wine Tour

Another fun tour that I took in Queenstown is the Hop On Hop Off Wine Tour. It is basically a bus that takes you to almost every winery and brewery around Queenstown. Of course, if you go to them all you will never find your way back to your hotel. It is also a great way to shop and stop for a meal at a local eatery. Be aware, admission is for the bus ride only. No wine tasting or meals are included. This way you can pay for exactly what you want.

In addition to Queenstown, other locations include: Bonnockburn, Marlborough, and Nelson. The tour offers full day or afternoon tickets. Children’s admission is also available at a lower cost. You can confirm all the current ticket prices on the website at – https://hoponhopoffwinetours.com
