Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours in Kauai, Hawaii
Take a Helicopter Tour in Kauai…a once in a lifetime experience. Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours is a private helicopter tour company, one of the few helicopter tours to offer a doors-off option. This is a bit scary. However, it is the best for photography. My husband and I had the chance to take a private tour, and I must say it was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I highly recommend it.
Best Helicopter Tour in Kauai
Taking a helicopter tour is one of the best ways to experience the spectacular Hawaiian island of Kauai. Since this is a bucket list experience for so many people, there are several companies to choose from. At ETG, we had a great experience with Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours. Many of us these days want to take photos. However, some of us prefer to just to sit back and relax. My husband is a professional photographer, so it was necessary for him to choose a helicopter tour company that featured a ‘doors off’ option. Mauna Loa Helicopters was the perfect choice. About Mauna Loa Helicopters
Mauna Loa Helicopters has been offering private sightseeing tours over Kauai since 2006. They also offers exclusive private helicopter tours over Oahu and the Big Island. Along with their impeccable safety record, they take pride in making each tour a personalized experience.
Pilot Blake Andrews took us on our 55 minute flight and gave us a full history of Kauai, as we marveled at the scenery below. He has been flying for seven years and got us shockingly close to the waterfalls, which seemed to be all around us. It stopped raining just before our flight, so the falls were really flowing. This created an opportunity, and Blake made the most of it for us. With three years on the Big Island then a move to Kauai, Blake has now been flying four and a half years with Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours. I must admit, flying with the doors off was scary. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list experience for me. My husband however will be going to Alaska to photograph K2 in a seaplane with no doors as soon as possible.
ETG Tip
Book early (as soon as you land on the island or preferably before). Safety is a priority, and the weather is continuously monitored. Flights can be cancelled at any time. If this happens, you will need to reschedule, as you will not receive priority on the next chopper out. So don’t book your flight for the final day of your trip. http://maunaloahelicoptertours.com
