Santa Monica CA Budget Lodging

If your destination is near the beach in Los Angeles, budget lodging in Santa Monica is a bit hard to find. Of course, there are plenty of boutique hotels but they may vary drastically in price. The larger chain hotels will allow for beautiful views such as the Loews Hotel Santa Monica, as well as the Shoreline. However close by just a 5-10 minute drive, head to the east side of Santa Monica.

Budget Lodging In Santa Monica

The Travelodge offers wonderful accommodations at a much lower price. Some rooms come with a kitchenette. With Trader Joe’s just a short walk away on Pico Boulevard, you can enjoy some quick ready-to-cook meals. Also in walking distance is a beautiful upscale restaurant called the Upper West. Nearby, another less expensive hotel is the Ocean Park Hotel. It has the charm of a smaller family run hotel in a residential area. Located just 1.5 miles from the beach, the rooms come with a microwave, mini-fridge, in-room vanity, flat panel TV, free wireless internet. However be aware there are ONLY shared restrooms, separate for men and women. That may be a deal breaker for you. On-site laundry facilities, and the free parking (hard to find in Santa Monica), may make up for not having a bathroom inside your room. But that is up to you. The hotel also has on-site dining at the OP Café.
