Review: CA, Ojai, The Capri Hotel

By Guest Writer B. Anderson – Ojai is a glorious place to get away for a weekend when you live in LA, so here is my Ojai Capri Hotel Review.

I have had some pretty romantic getaways up the coast – read my article Romance & Adventure in Napa, part of ETG’s ongoing California Coast series.

Ojai Capri Hotel Review

The Capri Hotel is the perfect place to sneak away to if you are an LA local or are visiting Los Angeles or Santa Barbara area as well as heading up to Napa. The mid-century modern hotel features thirty rooms and is located within walking distance to historic downtown Ojai. It was built in 1963 and is surrounded by the beautiful Topa Topa Mountains. I love the location – it’s a great location to access local restaurants and shopping. Since Ojai is filled with creative artisans, it also features some art pieces by local artists.

Room Options

The hotel offers a range of rooms, such as a two-queen deluxe with a patio, a two-king deluxe with a patio, a jacuzzi room, or family suite with a second attached room for the kids (complete with bunk beds) and a two bed suite which offers two separate rooms.

My husband and I have never stayed in a room that we did not like. Many of the rooms come with views as well as additional amenities – refrigerators, microwaves, 42″ flat screen televisions with cable, air-conditioning and wi-fi. We always ask for a view…so don’t forget to mention it when you reserve the room.

On site, enjoy the beautiful surrounding grounds with a garden area, or take advantage of the pool.  The hotel also accommodates animals and guests with disabilities. Yes I bring my baby tootsie all the time.
