If you are visiting Santa Monica…you MUST treat yourself to a meal at the Upper West. My husband and I have have never been disappointed.
Here some quick tasty suggestions…For appetizers, one of my favorites…Ahi Tuna Crispy Tacos (plantain shell / rice cracker / citrus-chipotle vinaigrette / jicama-cucumber salsa).
If you are truly hungry, a great option to share is the Hope Ranch Mussels (garlic-saffron broth / chorizo sarta / cilantro / grilled ciabatta / preserved lemon). If you are a fan of burrata, another favorite is the Burrata (green apple / blackberry / baby tomato / black chai salt /thai basil / dill / organic flour baguette)
For dinner try the Chicken Tawook (tomato & yogurt marinated pittman farms chicken / chickpeas & spinach / dried apricot / labneh)….so tasty. If you love meat (like my husband) Chef Nick Shipp will serve you up some unbelievable Braised Short Ribs (6 hour braised rib / whipped potato puree / tarragon pesto / fresno)…..see main photo of this article. The Marinated Flat Iron Steak (McDaniel smoked bacon & gorgonzola slaw) is also out of the world delicious. Be sure to indulge in the amazing desserts as well.
