If you love pizza, New York is THE place to be. Head to John’s of Bleecker Street for its famous coal fired pizza. This historic pizza place opened in 1929 at its original location on Sullivan Street. Currently on Bleeker Street, just look for the line that forms in the afternoon and you’ll know you have arrived. Mamoun’s Falafel has been around since 1971, It was my go-to falafel place in the village when I was in high school. The food was great, the prices were even better and they were open late. It is said to be ‘the oldest falafel restaurant in New York and one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States.’ The family owned restaurant has expanded through the years with more locations and now offers franchises.
