Architects Helen & Hard

The treehouses are designed by Norwegian architects Helen & Hard. Helen & Hard took the concept of treehouse building to new heights with their progressive design. Each treehouse is 15m2 and has been engineered so that the tree (with little support from foreign structures) supports the full weight of the treehouse. The tree lives inside the structure in the middle of the treehouse, representing respect as well as appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Additionally, the interior is fashioned using the finest black alder wood and the exterior blends into the natural surroundings, resembling the Norwegian “kongla” (pine cone). Inside you will find handcrafted chairs, designed and produced in Norway by Eikund.

Be aware there is an uphill walk from parking to the treehouses. As per the website – Depending on your fitness levels, the walk from the parking place to the treehouses can take up to 30 mins. There is a combination of steel, in addition to wooden steps, plus walking on a natural stone path and some uneven levels. Although the walk is short,  the hike up is steep, so you need to come prepared with good walking shoes and clothes.
