If you are interested in taking a fantastic tour, Icelandic Mountain Guides offers many selections. Golden Circle & Magical Nights is a popular one. The carbon neutral day tour offers a viewing of the Northern Lights and includes visits to local farms, lunch and dinner, in addition to a local spa. *Be sure to confirm with the website (below).
The tour leaves from Reykjavík, and takes the group through the famous Golden Circle route, through Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the local greenhouse, Friðheimar.
Here visitors can enjoy home grown tomato soup and freshly baked bread for lunch. The spectacular Gullfoss waterfall is the next stop along with the great Geysir geothermal area, where the Strokkur geyser spouts hot water up to 30 m.
A second farm stop (Efstidalur) will feature farm-produced Skyr and ice cream. Then head to Fontana, geothermal spa to relax and unwind. At this point, a two-course dinner will be presented at the local restaurant Lindin. Finally, it’s time to explore the mysterious, magical Northern Lights.
