Here is some info about the Snowmobile Tour on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier from its website. *See requirements such as a valid driver’s license which are needed for this tour: The Snowmobile Tour on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier gives you the opportunity to go up on the top of a glacier. The Mýrdalsjökull glacier is Iceland’s fourth largest glacier and covers the volcano Katla. To get up to the roots of the glacier we will take you up the mountain in a real glacier truck (about 30 min each way). Once there we’ll get on our snowmobiles and ride up the ice cap. From there we can enjoy the glacier landscapes and scenery over south Iceland (weather dependent). Everything needed for the tour is provided and our expert guides will teach you how to handle the snowmobile to enjoy this adventure in a fun but safe way. The duration of the tour is suitable for first time riders.

Here is some info about The Skaftafell Ice Cave Tour & Glacier Walk from its website: On this action packed day tour, you will explore the naturally formed ice caves and ice tunnels of a stunning outlet glacier. The ice caves, only accessible in winter, open up for exploration when the melt water underneath the glacier freezes over and leaves behind these ice tunnels. After meeting your highly trained and certified glacier guide in Skaftafell in Vatnajokull National Pari, you will be fitted with the required glacier gear we provide, like an ice axe, ice spikes and a helmet.

As your guide leads you on to the icy landscape for your glacier walk, you will learn about how they are formed. While in the ice caves, you will have plenty of time to take pictures of the breathtaking surroundings. The melting ice, vivid blue color and tranquility inside of the cave are what make these features of the glacier so spectacular. After exploring the cave, you will return up to its surface. There, your guide will lead you through the ever-changing glacial landscape and crevasses. You end off with a view of low land, sandy beach by the Atlantic Ocean in the distances. Did you know that the “Black Beach” on South Coast of Iceland even reaches further east close to Höfn and all the way west close to Ölfus, approx 340 km (211 miles). *The Skaftafell parking lot fee is not included in the tour price.
