Summer Activities

During the summer months, canoe tours and kayak tours are available on the lake. It is best to go with a tour as the lake is a protected area. The tiny islands (Tufa) are closed from April 1 to August 1, in order to protect nesting birds. Take a free one-hour walking tour with a trained naturalist of the South Tufa grove. Here you can learn about Mono Lake’s million-year old ecosystem.

If you are a winter sports fan, you probably already know about Mammoth Mountain. CLICK HERE to find out more.
