LA’s Eateries Stand the Test of Time!

Restaurants come and go – Here are a few restaurants that I reviewed before Eat Travel Go was born in 2018. They are still here, alive and thriving, despite the corona virus pandemic. Read my original reviews on our sister site – founded in 2010. I love happy hours, and small plates. Of course pizza is another favorite. Here are several places that I love.

I reviewed Southend back in 2015. This cozy restaurant offers a romantic atmosphere with scrumptious pizzas with all sorts of interesting toppings. Located in Venice Beach just off Abbot Kinney, it makes for a great date night. CLICK HERE to read my review. Southend’s address is 2805 Abbot Kinney Blvd, but the entrance is on Washington Blvd., Venice 90291;

In Santa Monica, you’ll find an eclectic variety of food at Brixton. I have enjoyed the happy hour specials (be sure to check the website…as things may have changed). The Fish and Chips entree is excellent (see cover shot by Richard Bilow). The restaurant also serve some yummy flatbreads (Grilled Veggie, Caprese). CLICK HERE to read the review. The Brixton is situated in Upper Santa Monica, 2827 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA, 90405;

If you are looking for a low key casual place to eat fantastic pizza. The Good Pizza is the place for you. The crust is superb. Keep in mind I am a native New Yorker, so I know good pizza!!!

The Playa Del Rey restaurant is pretty small, but cute inside, so get there early to grab a seat. CLICK HERE to read my review. The Good Pizza is located at 8115 West Manchester Avenue, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293;
